About
Misty Newcomb

Dr. Misty Newcomb lives in Northwest Arkansas with her husband of nearly 24 years. Together Clay and Misty have raised four children on the property they lovingly refer to as the Newcomb Farm.

Misty is the founding Superintendent of Prism North America: a hybrid faith-based school that operates on 7 campuses and in many homes across North America. Prism is an initiative of Congress-WBN, a unique global, faith-based organization focused on effecting human, social, and national transformation through the propagation of moral, ethical, and values-based principles, patterns, and approaches.

Misty earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2008, her Masters in that same program with an emphasis on Child Development in 2016, and her PhD in Public Policy in 2023 from the University of Arkansas. She serves on numerous boards and advisory councils focused on improving educational experiences for children and families both in Arkansas and across the globe.

Misty loves cooking, gardening, and low-key homesteading. Her exploration of these hobbies has given her a platform to contribute to a handful of homesteading and gardening outlets including Wild and Whole–an extension of MeatEater. She is also a regular on her husband’s podcast, the Bear Grease Render.
